Great Aunt Ann is this story's version of the Evil Fairy in the Sleeping Beauty tale. But I made the tale work differently to take the image of the wonderful spinning wheel work differently.

Ann is named after a weaver I know who is not at all like Great Aunt Ann but has a wonderfully witty, can-do spirit. I adore Ann, but I'd be terrified of Great Aunt Ann.

The Aunts were also inspired by P.G. Wodehouse who wrote a book called Aunts aren't Gentlemen!

For me, the snap has to provoke my imagination so in or outdoor doesn't matter - so long as I can find something in it that's what counts.Griffinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03863034333159354009noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7577067803721337165.post-88160417425709006222008-05-13T14:42:00.000+01:002008-05-13T14:42:00.000+01:00Yes, the boudoir line! McCartney was pointedly left out? Seems to me that'd warp a child!
Griffin, in general, do you prefer indoor to outdoor snaps? Your interests (those known to me!) being beautiful objects.. just wondering.Rosemary in Utahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00368563504158928668noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7577067803721337165.post-43829721394547103422008-05-13T10:22:00.000+01:002008-05-13T10:22:00.000+01:00oh Griffin you naughty storyteller :-) loved, simp...oh Griffin you naughty storyteller :-) loved, simply, loved Great Aunt Ann's arrival..a whole boudoir in motion!

when our son was christened, I passed around a book where the guests could write a message..one I recall in particular was that the writer hoped Andy would grow up with a love of the music of John Lennon...

Griffin..the magic you spin 'n weave for us..ahhhhhhhhhhhmadameshawshankhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07209343417985635423noreply@blogger.com
